Melihat Tanjung Margetha Dari Desa Halerman Alor Barat Daya (Seeing the Cape of Margetha from Halerman Village Southwest Of Alor)

Margetha is one of the villages located in South West Of Alor, Alor Archipelago, East of Nusa Tenggara province, Indonesia. This village is one of 20 villages located in Alor sub-district.

The trip was quite tiring due to having to go through a road that had a severe damaged condition. Travel using 4×4 vehicles so that we were able to pass through off roads and were grateful that the trip is done during the dry season.

But when we arrived at Halerman village which is also one of the villages in South West of Alor sub-district, we found a beautiful view of a cape and very fascinating one. Margetha Cape is the longest promontory in the Alor Islands.

We observed roads that have been repaired by village official. Construction of Concrete rebate road was found on several roads in Halerman village towards to Margetha but did not cover all of the existing roads. But everything should be appreciated as a development effort that has been carried out in the village.

We passed several small rivers that existed in dry mountain valleys. The local children who accompanying our trip seemed without any doubt and immediately drank the water. Clear water but has a small discharge during the dry season.

I am very happy for being able to visit this place and hopefully the electricity network development effort can be resolved despite facing considerable challenges such lack of perfect road access and of course I am proud to contribute on development in South West of Alor. Based on preliminary observations found that in these villages is having potential as producers of crops such as walnuts, tamarind, and cashew nuts showing by the number of these trees grows in this area and in the bay far away has been built seaweed and pearl farming. I do not know who is managing it but this shows that most of the population are livelihoods as farmers and fishermen.
